I currently reside on the traditional homelands of the Pâri (Pawnee), Jiwere – Nutachi (Otoe – Missouria), and Oceti Sakowin (Sioux) Tribal Nations, land the US government currently calls Eastern Nebraska. With gratitude and intent I honor the stories, members, traditions, and cultures of these nations.
I acknowledge that my presence here makes me complicit in colonization, which has and continues to subject Indigenous people to violence. I take responsibility for continuing to learn from and listen to Indigenous people, to boost their voices, and to support their efforts to decolonize.
I firmly believe that Indigenous knowledge and guidance are the key to a successful future for people and our planet. Indigenous knowledge isn’t primitive—it’s forward thinking in a way colonizers have never been. Indigenous people recognize the inherent value of our world; they, more than anyone, can guide us away from ecological disaster and into a bright, sustainable future. I am honored to collaborate with talented Indigenous creators to share the wide-ranging impacts of Indigenous efforts to heal our world.
